188Bet might not be the first name you think of when it comes to online sports betting, but they’ll certainly be recognisable to many. Since starting up back in 2006 they have managed to create a really solid bookmaker that’s supported Bolton Wanderers as a sponsor in the past and are currently the main partner of Wigan Warriors Rugby League Football Club.
They are able to provide a complete betting package covering all kinds of sports with dedicated racing and in-play sections. They also work hard on their pricing to be competitive in a crowded market place.
Welcome Bonus: Bonus up to £75
New accounts will be able to get a cash bonus of up to £75 when you make your first deposit £10 or more and place sports or racing bets with odds of evens (2.0) or greater in the first 30 days. Make 10 of these and you can get £25 returned in cash, place at least 20 for £50 returned in cash, place 30 or more for the max of £75. The cash payments will hit your account within 48 hours of the 30 days ending, when it can be used to bet with or withdrawn.
The 188BET Website
188 Bet have managed to create on of the better looking sportsbooks in our opinion. It’s hard to say exactly what sites that flourish in terms of design do well, but you just know as soon as you land there.
The whole appearance is very clean and with it you are greeted with a series of markets on the home page, along with a super simple navigation section down the left hand side. The black and white colour scheme, with splashes of orange are a really nice touch and it allows you to easily flick between different sports and markets as well.
The mobile app follows suit, which again allows for another great betting experience. Like a lot of bookmakers these days, the mobile app is often thought of as the most popular place to bet and whilst the online site ticks all the boxes, we’d have to agree that the app is as good as you will find for most functions and gets our vote.
The site is able to cover a vast number of betting markets. It will come as little surprise to hear that they are heavily involved with horse racing and football, which is where the majority of you are probably looking to bet anyway.
Whilst the markets are in favour of these two sports, 188Bet is far from limited to them. They offer a good range of tennis, cricket, rugby, basketball, American football and boxing markets, along with a host of other sports.
A pleasant surprise was the fact that they were able to provide a good pricing structure, which is essential for any bookmaker wanting to make it to the top. The odds can be erratic for some sports and we found that they whilst some were really well priced, others weren’t as strong. We would advise that using 188Bet alongside other bookmakers in your betting portfolio as they are almost certainly going to be adding value to your bets, such is their mark-up on some odds.
Live Betting & Streaming
Live betting has been an area that the company seems to have been keen to improve as it’s now right up there with the best.
What we liked about the whole section is how it functions. For example, when on the live betting hub you are able to see which odds are shortening and which odds are drifting using green and red boxes respectively. You are also able to favourite market and games to stick to the top of the page, which is another handy feature allowing you to highlight the games that you are looking to bet on.
Once in to each market you get to see the live centre that is on offer. This shows you information on the game such as latest score and events throughout the match. For sports like football it will also allow you to see a real-time display of where the ball is and which team has possession. We would even go as far as saying that it’s one of the best looking live centre’s that we’ve seen.
For those of you looking to place Asian bet types, then 188Bet might just be the place for you. You’ll be able to open up a whole new page that is dedicated to Asian markets including handicaps and goal line bets.
The statistics section on site will also align up with these markets, giving you a good idea of what and where to bet for these exact bets. It’s not necessarily markets that other bookmakers don’t offer, but it’s pretty rare to see them all in the same place, a great feature in our opinion.
Banking is fairly limited on site, but with the likes of Visa, MasterCard, Skrill and Neteller, the majority of users will be able to utilise one of these options.
Processing times seem to be bang on point, with deposits all being instant (apart from bank transfer which takes 1-5 working days) with no fees needing to paid. Limits start from as little as £10 and work their way up to as much as £50,000 with Skrill.
Withdrawing is equally impressive, with all forms of withdrawal being free, apart from cheques, which cost £20 each and can take anywhere from between 5-30 working days to be sent out. Processing times are just 2 hours for Skrill and 1-3 working days for all other methods. Limits are pretty high as well, ranging from a maximum of £50,000 with Skrill to £250,000 via direct bank transfer.
