Winner Review

Winner has been about since 2009, which actually makes them a fairly long servant in the online gaming industry these days. But, compared with the more established brands, they are still pretty young and we think it’s probably fair to say that they haven’t reached the level where we can class them as one of the best in the industry….yet.

They have evolved quite a lot over the last couple of years in particular, seeing them go from a fairly average bookmaker into one that is much more worthy of the name Winner. The sites development hasn’t gone unnoticed in the industry either, picking up awards for innovation, highlighting just how far they have come.

The Winner Website

Winner has a fairly decent looking site and whilst it’s not the best, we’d say it’s probably fair to call them middle of the road. The issue is that the design now looks very dated and whilst it’s actually still fairly functional, as soon as you enter sites like this you are immediately wary and wonder why they haven’t updated it to bring it more inline with what’s going on in the industry today.

The home page has a lot going on, generally we like it when we can just breeze to where we need to be, rather than getting a barrage of information all at once. The page is broken down into sports on the left, betting markets in the middle and bet slip along with some betting highlights on the right. This is pretty standard but there is a lot going on. With the advertising banner at the top it feels like there is a lot of moving parts.

The mobile site is probably the best way to use Winner, at least in our opinion. We think the app is much more stripped down in terms of what’s on the screen at any one time. You are able to access it on any mobile device simply by entering the site within your smartphones browser.

Betting Markets

Straight from the off, it feels like Winner offer a really diverse range of sports to choose from. Often when you land on these lower profile sites you get a sense that they are fully made up of football and horse racing, with a tiny selection of other sports. But here you get a wide number of sports on the home screen all with latest odds, which is great as it actually feels like a diverse betting site.

The reality is that football still dominates in terms of the number of markets that are on offer, but it doesn’t get rammed down your throat like with other bookmakers, which is a really nice change.

We also noticed that if you are into your American sports then you are going to love winner. We know that American sports are massively gaining popularity in UK bookmakers, so to see them isn’t that big of a surprise. We were surprised to see just how well the games are covered, not just in terms of market coverage, but also in terms of the number of leagues and events. Also, it’s not just American leagues that are on offer, for example basketball includes betting on games from all over Europe. American Football contains numerous college leagues and even European leagues, which aren’t even classed as professional.

The pricing structure on site is pretty solid, without ever being amazing. Winner probably isn’t going to be that bookmaker that you use for all your bets. You might want them to work alongside one of the bigger brands and then to be able to dive in when the price is right or they have a good promotion running.

Live Betting & Streaming

The live betting section is pretty solid, without ever really being amazing. The issue is that the design really does let Winner down here as it’s pretty numbing on the eyes. We have actually seen similar design for live betting sections previously and we weren’t too keen on them then and we aren’t now.

But, once you get over the design then the actual range of bets and number of markets are really quite impressive. Again, football plays a pretty big part but that’s because it’s played as much as any sport and the demand is there. Outside of football, tennis is definitely worth mention with dozens of games on offer from around the world.

Banking

You have a good range of banking options at Winner, which include Visa, MasterCard, Neteller and PayPal, to name but a few. Deposits start from as little as £10 and incur no fees.

Withdrawals will require you to verify your account with ID and possibly proof of address as well. We recommend that you do this before needing to actually withdraw to save time. There are no fees but a pending period of up to 3 days will occur on some transactions, with subsequent processing times ranging from just 1 day for e-wallets, up to 7 days for pretty much everything else.
